I just moved to an apartment and inherited this plant that's seen better days. Does anybody know what it is?

Jessie lynn: The common name is peace lily
sunnyzou: named Spathiphyllum kochii
sunnyzou: maybe too much sunlight. the plant grown in light shade.

What is this plant and why is my plant's leaves facing down except for the top few? Is it a lack of sun? I have had it for about 8 months and this is quite recent

meriunkat: it could be that the bottom petals are too heavy and crowded now, you could try propagating with them
大可奇: less water, more sunshine
Ueca: Yeah, it wants sun. But don't suddenly give it 10 hours of sun. Add like an extra hour every other day.

Can anyo identify this plant? I live in the Pacific Northwest; this, clearly, isn't a native species, but it was here when I bought the house. The three photos show an overall view, the leafy base, and the budding flowers at the top of the woody stem. This beautiful plant is in a drip-irrigated rock garden.
